The SHOCKING Truth About Over Training

by Craig Addyman on March 4, 2011

Over Training
I have been pushing myself pretty hard lately (but to be fair my heart isn’t quite in in yet), and it has show me just how unfit I have become I have still been running around like I was still at school (when I was actually fit).

But the last 2 days I have noticed I have lost my appetite and although I still want to train I know this is soon going to stop, as loss of appetite is a warning sign of over training.

I don’t think I have necessarily push myself in a silly way but as my body is trying to adapt to it’s beastings I keep giving it, this is the way of telling me to slow down!

Now force feeding might be a way to over come the effects of over training and once the lack of motivation to train kicks in I could just push through it but then what? Injury is a definite and something I want to avoid, but not only that I want to enjoy my training otherwise it will never last.

So, if you feel like your over training then take a day off even if its halting your routine, I’m going to have today off and tomorrow have a not to strenuous workout and see how I feel.

Although it’s frustrating taking a break will be better for me then if I keep going.

Let me know if you have ever experienced over training and what you do to try and combat it. Do you take a break or do you just push through it?
